Assembly
1. Install The Boards
Install the controller and Mini-Serial boards on the machine body frame.
PP_SLFC_V2.1
and PP_MiniSerial_V1.0
overview (2+1) :
PP_BFC_V3.0
and PP_MiniSerial_V2.0
overview (2+1) :
The default baud rate is 19200bps. The controller is compatible with almost all M command of the 0816 feeder controller. In addition to this, it is able to respond to additional G command and M command to improve the compatibility of the OpenPnP gcode driver.
For more information, please refer to the corresponding documentation.
Use screws, spacers, washers and t-nuts to fix the boards on the bottom side of left feeder mounting frame.
Note
Installation direction: for all PCBs that are serially connected together, the neighboring serial ports are connected RX-TX.
Tip
The 4th-5th controller boards are mounted on the right frame, the 3rd controller board is mounted on the middle of front-top frame
Use 4P male-female wire (v2.1) / 6P wire (v3.0) to connect the 2nd to 3rd controller; Use 4P / 6P male-female wire to connect the 3rd to 4th controller;
2. Connect The Wires
Connect the USB cable and the power wire(s) to the motion controller board.
Note
The feeder controllers will not work if the power wire is not connected to at least one of them in the daisy chain as the PP_MiniSerial
is installed exclusively for communication.
Danger
Be careful about installing the power line because the wrong voltage input will burn out the entire feeder system.
- The latest version for controllers is v3.0 which accepts 24V power input.
- Older versions can only accept 5V power input. Do not connect it to 24V!
Connect PP_MiniSerial
to USB2.0 A-TypeC-L 0.3m
.
Connect the other end of USB2.0 A-TypeC-L 0.3m
to UPORT2/ UPORT1 port on the motion controller board.
For version 2.1 controllers and below, connect the 5V port to 5V power port on the motion controller board. For version 3.0 controllers, connect the 24V port to 24V power port on the motion controller board (left side).
Tip
Only the 1st and 5th (If it exists) control board needs to be connected to power.
For SLFC-V2 / BFC-V2 Hardware:
5V plugs.
For BFC-V3 Hardware:
24V or VIN plugs.
