3. Visual Homing
Visual Homing can provide a stable and accurate coordinate reference to avoid the error of mechanical homing.
Note
After the machine has been left idle for an extended period (60mins or more), the motors may be disabled (no holding torque) to save energy. Before resuming operation, to ensure accuracy, a homing operation should be performed.
1. Home The Machine
Use the default method to home the machine first.
Machine Setup > Heads > ReferenceHead H1
Visual Homing is not used by default.
2. Move The Top Camera
Use the buttons on the Jog tab to move the Top Camera to the top of the fiducial point on Fiducial Home Board. Manually turn on the TopCam backlight if necessary.
By Jog buttons or dragging with the mouse, fine-tune the position of the Top Camera so that the center of the crosshairs in the TopCam view is aligned with the center of the fiducial point.
3. Change The Method
Machine Setup > Heads > ReferenceHead H1
Change the Homing Method from None to ResetToFiducialLocation :
Now the X Y coordinates of Homing Fiducial are in the editable state.
Click the capture button, the coordinates of the current Top Camera center will be updated to the X Y coordinates of Homing Fiducial.
Click Apply to save and enable the settings.
4. Testing And Completion
Use the Visual Test button to test if the pipeline of fiducial vision is working properly.
Use the Visual Home button to perform Visual Homing.
If everything is fine, after making several visual recognitions, Visual Homing is completed.
Now, when using the Homing button on the Jog tab, it will perform Visual Homing and set the machine coordinates after completing the basic X Y Z mechanical homing.
The Visual Homing setting is complete.
